Who we are

A place where schools, groups and families learn and grow through outdoor adventure. For more than 70 years, we’ve helped young people build confidence, resilience and connection in the heart of the Lake District.

What we do and why it matters

Ghyll Head is an outdoor education and activity centre with a long history of delivering meaningful, inclusive experiences for young people and groups. From school residentials and SEND programmes to youth groups and family stays, we create learning through challenge, nature and shared adventure.

For more than 70 years, we’ve seen first-hand how time outdoors can build confidence, resilience and connection - whether it’s a young person’s first night away from home, a breakthrough moment on the water, or a shared achievement that brings a group closer together.
